Jeff has served as SVP and CBO for Essent since 2009. He has more than 20 years experience in mortgage finance, mortgage insurance and business development.

Prior to Essent, Jeff served as executive vice president and chief operating officer of a nationwide mortgage insurer, with responsibility for all operations, pricing and sales functions.

He has also held management positions within the mortgage insurance industry, including business development, capital markets, international business and strategic planning groups. Prior to that, Jeff worked at Household Finance Corporation with roles in underwriting and quantitative marketing analytics.

He holds a BS in finance from Illinois State University and an MBA from DePaul University's Kellstadt Graduate School of Business.

Matt joined Essent in 2013 after nearly seven years working on Capitol Hill. Prior to Essent, he was chief of staff for Arizona Congressman David Schweikert. Matt served as the congressman's primary policy and political advisor, overseeing his work on the House Financial Services Committee with a specific focus on reform of the U.S. housing system, as well as initiatives to modernize the regulation of securities markets.

Prior to working on Capitol Hill, Matt worked in the Congressional Affairs division of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

He holds a BA in history from the College of the Holy Cross and an MBA from George Mason University.
